In this book there is a 5-year-old boy named Jack. He was born in this room that his mom has been trapped in for over 20 years. The man that kidnapped her, His name Is Nick. The two had to make up a plan to escape somehow. When I was reading this book I was wondering why Jack was always so afraid to try and escape he didn’t want to leave his room. Jack has been on the earth for 5 years and has never stepped a foot outside. Jack was scared of the outside world. Another reason why he was scared to escape was, when he would try to slip past him quickly then Old Nick would turn around quick enough to capture Jack. Therefore Jack would just get hurt in the end because Old Nick would get frustrated and mad. And lastly Jack never wanted to leave …show more content…
Jack would think that the other people he would see are fake. And it would be likely that Jack would get lost in the woods or wherever Nick would drop him off. Jack never wanted to make a plan but his mom was sick of the same room for 20 years and she needed to get out. I also have two questions. The first one is why did jacks mom ever go in the car with Old Nick. Old nick had tricked her into getting into his car because he had said he needed help in all reality he just wanted to kidnap her. She had been walking out of college and she was in the parking lot when an old rusty truck came up to her and tricked her into getting into the car. “Get into the car and grab that for me would you” (Donoghue 112). When she had jack they needed to escape. There plan was to act like jack was sick, but all he had to do is act dead and stay still. The next question I have is why did Nick refuse to bring Jack to the hospital. But not to mention of course Nick hadn’t registered jack to the state so nobody knew about him so what would they do when they have a kid that no one is the world ever knew about. Old Nick of course didn’t want people to know he had captured a female over 20 years ago. Overall I had many questions but the main point was why did Nick ever capture

In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, conflict - both internal and external - portrays a major development in the theme and plot of the young boys in this novel. On an island composed of only pre-adolescent boys, it is unquestionable that there would be conflict amongst them. Golding blatantly shows the reader the external conflicts that occur between one another, including both physical and verbal altercations. The author also cryptically gives the reader a display of the conflict the boys struggle with within themselves and their own thoughts. Despite the many instances of external conflict, the subtle internal conflicts are much more critical to the plot and overall theme of Lord of the Flies.…

I loved Jack so much he was my best friend and a brother to run to when things got bad, what I miss the most about him along with his smile, laugh, idiotic dancing, drinking competitions, crying on his shoulder, hanging out at Cronulla and just being around him made you forget everything on your mind. Before we all lost jack, I would sit there and hug him so tight and talk to him for hours each day, that 's how I know so much about depression, pain and other mental illnesses. I saw it all through my own eyes with him, all the demons inside and then I went through it. He would talk to me about his girlfriend, everything he was feeling and what she was doing to him that no human should ever treat their love ones.…
