My favorite short story from this term is "To built a fire" by Jack London. The central theme of the story is that foolish confidence leads to bad results and it is simple and relatable for me. Also the detailed description of building a fire in freezing temperatures such as "He worked slowly and carefully, realizing his danger. Gradually,as the flame grew stronger, he increased the size of the sticks with which he fed it " (London, n.d., p.65) caught my attention. The story makes me look back my life the decisions that I made and I feel fortunate to not be in the posion of the man who built the fire.
