Jack Kilby had a normal childhood and grew up like any other child did. He was born on November 8, 1923 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Jack was raised in Great Bend Kansas through his childhood. He went to serve the military in World War 2 and was stationed in India as a technician. His father worked in the field of electrical engineering. Jack married a girl named Barbara Annegers in 1948 and they had two daughters and five granddaughters. Jack Kilby got several degrees and went to many schools. He earned his degree in electrical engineering at the University of Illinois in 1947. Jack earned his master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin in 1950.
