After migrating from urban East Cleveland, Ohio to rural Toomsuba, Mississippi, at the age of 15. I personally know, the first leadership any child experiences are their parents. Sometimes, adversity in life will causes some parents to capitulate, because they may not possess the intelligence and/or humility needed, to overcome a specific hardship(s). In my case, it was a long-term crumpling marriage and the death of a sibling; that caused my parents to make a series of unhealthy decisions, unbeknownst to them, how their decisions would affect their remaining children’s lives. Nevertheless, one has had been afforded the opportunity to have been exposed to people who saw more in me than I could. Ms. Mattie Lee Whittington, was the first manager I ever had. Mrs. Whittington, was the co-owner of Red …show more content…
It happened to coincide with the day my family arrived. The owners were really vial people, but that taught me the importance of ethical leadership. After that experience, I changed careers started in banking operation as a Remittance Processor/Documentation Specialist (my first position in banking), Banking has a horizontal and vertical organizational structure-one can easily have several bosses. However, Roy Johnson was the Manager of Retail Lockbox- Roy, would do terrible things to employees just because he could i.e. Manipulate employee time, his abusive tone, and lack of common sense just to name a few. Although, thanks to Roy one knows how not to treat people. Then there was Robert Brown, my lead, Robert told me, something that I carry to this day in the reservoirs of my mind “Darlene, someone will always come along that will do it better”. I carry that information, because it piggy-backs on something my grandmother told me. She said, “it makes no difference, how long you have been doing something, because that may not have been the best way”. It is because of those two people my grandmother and Robert, respectively is the reason why it is important to embrace

I selected three primary sources, The Trial of Andrew Johnson, 1868, Ku Klux Klan, 1868, and Kamikaze Attack, 1944. The trial of Andrew Johnson, 1868 is mainly about how the Judiciary Committee finds a way to impeach Andrew Johnson, but Johnson got to stay as a president by one lucky vote. The Ku Klux Klan is about an organization killing slaves and carpet baggers for fun, and how their organization got big in the south. The Kamikaze Attack was a battle between the Japanese and the American Navy, there was a lot of people kill and it explains how bad the battle was. My first primary source is The Trial of Andrew Johnson, 1868, the Radical Republicans where not happy with Andrew Johnson beliefs, Andrew Johnson changed his beliefs about readmitting…

Why would a successful football star throw his life away? OJ Simpson, who previously and still continually accused of murdering Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, was an American Football Star Player, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1968. Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman were both murdered outside of Nicole’s condo, and many believe it was OJ, but was it really? In the controversial court case of OJ Simpson, the verdict correctly appointed him innocent and acquitted him of the murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman because his arthritis would have made it very difficult to commit murder, evidence proved him innocent, and his son had issues with knifes and continues to experience this. Leadership is a quality I believe I excel in. I migrated to Hawaii in July of 2011, and typically, like most immigrants, I behaved in a reserved manner. I repeatedly told myself throughout the whole school year, “You don’t know how to do that. Don’t join, you might just embarrass yourself.” Later in middle school, a teacher of mine suggested that I run for class president.…

For me, having good character consists of the qualities of leadership, service, and scholarship. As being the second-oldest child in my family, leadership is a necessary trait. On top of my house duties and babysitting, for the past three summers, I’ve been working at the Ganbare Japanese Camp as a Junior Counselor. To the kids there, I’m an inspiration and a role model who motivates them to work hard not only in the Immersion Program, but also in school. School and academics has always been important to me.…

When I contemplate about the furthermost influential greatest leadership example in my life, the first person I ruminated of was my dad. I imagine many children see their parents as a role model or an example of an exceptional leader; however, not all parents instill the basic foundation that I believe is practical for character building that my father has imparted in me.
