Jack Dempsey, One of Americas best boxers during the 20th century. He took down many of the greatest boxers during his generation. Dempsey’s child hood wasn’t an easy one. When he was a boy, Dempsey got a job on a farm, miner, and cowboy to help out his struggling family (1). Born on June 24 in Manassa, Colorado (2).
Before Jack was born, his parents move west to small Mormon village of Manassa in southern Colorado. Hyrum and Cecilia Dempsey were originally from West Virginia (2).
