This solution would meet the goal of having Jack maintain a stable income for his family. Another possible solution would be for Jack to sell the beans from his magical beanstalk. This would again meet the goal of Jack maintaining a stable income for his family. A third possible solution would be for Jack to cut the beanstalk down in order to prevent the mountain people from reaching him in order to seek retaliation of Jack stealing from them. This would meet the goal of Jack making amends with the mountain people after he stole from them. Lastly, another possible solution would be a combination of the solutions listed above in order to meet the ideal goal. This would be for Jack to use his last coin to buy a cow that produces milk that Jack could sell in order to produce stable income. Jack could also sell the beans from his magical beanstalk in order to produce additional income. Jack could then take some of this extra money that he’s been able to make and return this money to the mountain people. By combining these solutions, it meets the ideal goal of Jack not only being able to maintain a stable income, but be highly wealthy as well as make amends with the mountain people in order to ensure his family’s
