In the end it’s always the strongest who wins Lord of the flies is a novel written by William Golding. The book is set on an island where a group of young boys gets stranded after a plane crash. The boys are there alone without any adults and is forced to fend for themselves so they make up some rules and decides duties for everyone, with the main objective to survive and get rescued. In the beginning they work well together with hunting food, keeping a signal fire going etc. But this system gets out of hand quickly. Some of the boys get more and more sloppy with the work they are supposed to do and Ralph, the democratically chosen leader of the group, gets frustrated because he knows that the work has to be equally done by everyone to keep

I find this very interesting in a social scientific manner. You can compare it to any political election campaign and especially the time before Nazi Germany, when Hitler used many different arguments to make the inhabitants in Germany scared and turn against other ethnic groups. Hitler also told the inhabitants in different ways how he could secure Germany. He basically created a major society problem and used it in his favor. Donald Trump is also a good example of using this tactic, with the exception of using an already existing problem. ”Make America Great Again”. Jack used a similar tactic on the island. He saw that the younger boys had nightmares about a beast that existed on the island. Jack used the fact that they were scared to his advantage and made them go over to his side.
