Every cadet has the ability to improve from previous scores to become better as a cadet and a person. At the beginning of the year I had an average self-esteem that I was quite comfortable with. At the end of the year it remained the same, which is something I need to improve in. I feel I could’ve improved on this skill. I think I had some room to improve but I will try even harder next year to get that up. The most I improved this year was in decision making. I think that this was a skill I personally needed to work on for both myself and others. It was helping both me and my peers. A skill that was low all year was empathy. I fell that this is an important skill that I can use in the JROTC program, as well as outside the program. …show more content…
If it weren’t for the program this score wouldn’t be so high. I think this was help to the program and I hope to continue at this pace. In my opinion, this is one of the most important skills that a cadet and a person needs. It can help a person get a good job, and ultimately exceed in life as a whole. Without these things, I’m sure you would struggle to good with your life. Another skill I struggled with was intrapersonal aggression. This is something I have struggled with for a while and personally is the most challenging for myself. It went from a 15 to a 37. I think this is a core skill that I really need to work on because it is crucial to be a good cadet. I think this skill has decreased because I haven’t applied myself to the best of my ability. In conclusion, the JROTC program has changed me for the better. The personal skill map has helped me to improve on things that I was struggling with personally. The thing I improved the most on this week was learning how to play Chrononauts. At first we were put into groups to play this game and my team sat on the wings of the tables. For about the first 15 minutes I had no idea what this game was or how to play it. After I saw the other team's play after a few turns I started get what this game was about, but still I had many questions about what each card does or in what ways you could win. The second game we played my team was put in the center of the tables.…

Also, this class improved my briefing skills and ability to stand in front of a group of people and talk to them about different subjects. The NCO week expanded my knowledge about leadership and key role we play as Non-Commissioned Offers in the Army. When I was a child when someone asked me, "What are you going to be when you grow up?" My answer was always, "I am going to be a nurse. " When I attended college the first time, my answer became, "I 'm not sure what I want to be." Right out of high school making the decision of what you are going to do for the rest of your life is scary, so I juggled back and forth from teaching and nursing. I eventually decided to take a break for a while until I knew what I needed to do.…
