The book The Return of the King, by J.R.R Tolkien is one of the lord of the rings book series. This book starts of with Gandalf and a hobbit riding to a city near Mordor. They are going there because the beacons were which meant that the enemy was ready for war. When they arrive at the city they find the city prepared for war. The only people there are men and some young boys because the rest of the city fled. Then it switches over to Rohan which is a king and he knows that war is coming so he is preparing an army and gathering tons of men to fight. Then in the next seen the enemy comes from the sea in their boats and takes over the towns by the sea and berns them too the ground and the army of mordor burns fields and any living thing around
