Name of singer and instruments played.
The singer I will be doing my assessment on is J.cole, J.cole was highly influenced by more electronic artists so most of his instruments are equipment like beat pads, the keyboard and of course his voice. Just because his music is mainly loops and sounds doesn’t mean there are no drums and such involved, he often uses drum loops, guitar samples etc…
Brief Biography.
J.cole, also known as Jermaine Cole has had an extremely tragic life, he was born at a US army base during January 28th 1985 as his father was a African American soldier and his mother was a German postal worker. After being born at an army base is America Jermaine was moved to West Germany where he grew up until his mother decided to move him and his brother Zach to North Carolina as his mother thought she would be able to successfully raise the children and provide them with what they needed there better than Germany. When the Cole family started their life in Carolina they were stuck living in a cramped trailer park, until Jermaine’s mother meant a man who was soon to be here husband. When his mother remarried they began to live in a much nicer house, Jermaine attended Terry Stanford High school while struggling with multiple jobs on top of that. Jermaine also has a song called “dreams” this is personally one of my favourite songs from him as it shows his real feelings for a girl he has never met, the song can be quite relatable in some aspects but near the end of the song it shows his more jealous/crazy side of his personality.
