“Lead by example.” For once, he is simple and to the point. It’s not uncommon to have this mindset in any mind nowadays, but he took it to a much higher extent. His impact on his family was monumental in the eyes of his nephews and children, but from his thoughts, his brothers were different. “I like to think they look up to me as I was the only one to finish college in my family. But besides my and children and my brothers kids, I think I had much of an impact on my brothers academically. My father always taught us to live a full life and I guess we each interpreted that differently.” In comparison, he also added other words regarding what he thought of his influence on the Latino community was like, “I know people from all over look at me and think, ‘hey this guy is good at this job. I want to be able to do that with my career.’ But my brothers probably don’t.” He went back to them for the sake of how he thinks they all could have been something bigger with a better education. He prides his family over all so that seems as a let down to him that his brothers didn’t try to follow in his footsteps and instead followed his older brother’s. Dr. Rodriguez was an influential Latino citizen in the eyes of his loved ones and trusted colleagues. He affected from cities, to districts, to states. His goals that he reached will help those he has touched everyday of their lives. He is a hardworking person, and an exemplary father.
