When I conceptualize a fulfilling life, I envision myself helping others. Making others happier, even for a second, is so beautiful to me. Since I was young, I would volunteer at organizations such as the Women’s Center or the humane society. Pursuing a career in Dietetics would give me the opportunity to guide others to make healthier choices and in the end, make their lives brighter. I would love to graduate from Indiana University with a degree in Dietetics that will allow me to become a nutritionist. I wish to help people find food programs that make them feel satisfied physically and mentally. Whether it’s assisting an individual battling weight or a patient battling cancer, I know that food can undoubtedly save someone. At IU, I know

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to attend North Dakota State University. My dad and sister are NDSU alumni, so furthering my education where they did provides us with a unique bond. Additionally, not many of my relatives attended college, allowing me to see the difficulties in providing for oneself and family without a college degree. Although I know the next seven years are going to be challenging, extremely strenuous, and will push me to the edge of my comfort zone, the satisfaction of administering medical services to those who need them will make it worthwhile. Not only will I be able to care for others with a Pharm.…

I am a first-generation Latina student at The Ohio State University. Being from inner city Toledo, Ohio, I attended a public district where 80% of students received free or reduced lunch and the graduation rate was at an all time low of 49%. My parents had not graduated high school, therefore once college applications became relevant, they unfortunately could not help me. Through 25 different scholarships, I was able to attend OSU without any loans and truly believed I was on the right track to achieving the "American Dream". To my dismay, once classes began, I was lost.…

Growing up, I have always wanted to dedicate myself to doing something special in life. I was born in a village in Mexico where public health and education were very limited. I recall, one day, accompanying my mother to a ladies house where there was a sick child. My mother was one of the women in the village who would take care of the sick; she learned everything she knew from my grandmother. When we got there, I saw my mother prepare some medicine and giving it to the ill child.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

They left everything they knew behind in search for a better life for themselves and their children. Instead, they found themselves living in the projects of South Yonkers with nothing but drugs, violence, and convenient stores surrounding them.…
