Human Trafficking is an action or practice of illegally transporting people from one area to another. Which is typically for the purpose of forced labor or sexual abuse. It harms our communities and it endangers the lives of those who become victims. It can take place right around the corner at a neighbor's house. Trafficking thrives on secrecy, to stop it the more people that know, the more help that people can give to prevent it. The law enforcement should stop human trafficking by making a safer environment for woman, by holding classes to help women to not set themselves up as a target and advertising the Human trafficking hotline so that it is well known to everyone. The next step in trafficking in person is the part of transportation or transfer of victims from one area to another. This is done by transferring the victims from their place of origin to a different place. Which allows the traffickers to remove the victim from their usual environment and familiar surroundings. It makes it easier for achieving a greater control over them. The final step of the process is to obtain the ultimate goal, abuse. The abuse frequently begins at the place of destination and allows for the fulfillment of the greatest motive that traffickers have and that is to make a profit. The goal of the traffickers is to make profit by abusing people which can happen in different ways: sexual, labor, forced beggary, illegal adoption, forced marriages, or even trading in human organs. The National Hotline started their operation in December 7th, 2007. They are non-profit, and a non-governmental organization that is a leader in the global fight to eradicate modern slavery and restore freedom to survivors of human trafficking. The funding is provided by the Department of Health and Human Services and other private donors and supporters. The human trafficking hotline needs to be well addressed. There should be build boards covered with the National hotline number. There should be commercials made by the hotline advertising about it. It needs to be well addressed to people so that people can call or even talk to someone, if it is needed. Not everyone knows what the hotline offers and what it does. The National Human Trafficking Hotline is a national anti-trafficking hotline. Their mission is to provide human trafficking victims and survivors access to support and services to get help the help they need and to stay safe (National Human Trafficking Hotline). The hotline equips the anti-trafficking community with the tools to effectively combat all forms of human trafficking.
