The drought in California has effected many people over the past year. The whole state is hurting and yearning for water but there is one specific group of living things, animals and people, who are suffering the most. The farmers growing California food and the farm animals providing our food are suffering the most during this horrific drought. California’s farmers are in desperate need to keep crops alive and supply their livestock with adequate amounts of water. California farmland has not been saturated enough to sustain crops any more and this is causing a decrease in amounts of produce produced and shipped off to other states. Including decreased amounts of crops produced, the prices of these specific California grown crops has increased, as seen in supermarkets. Obviously due to a plant’s chemistry, crops such as produce, need water to reproduce and stay alive. Without that source of water, it is difficult to keep crops, especially large amounts, alive during this drought. This causes a decrease in production and sales in the farming industry. There are farmers, who grow for local and nation wide companies, who cannot produce enough crops to sustain these companies and end up …show more content…
Over the years the ground collects water to use for future growth but since California has been struggling with long dry spells, the ground is unsaturated making it difficult to produce crops efficiently. The ground, as well as the crops, then need extra water, that California most likely do not have, to help grow efficiently. Having inefficient working land causes a decrease in sales to other states and the amount of produce being shipped. For example, avocados are mainly grown in California and other states like getting them shipped to them, but with this drought most avocado farms are struggling and cannot sustain the country’s avocado

Climate change influences environmental conditions across the globe Rates of precipitation, however, are expected to increase alongside temperature. California has been impacted greatly, with numerous severe droughts and heat waves. Several studies have shown that increasing global temperatures have correlated with longer recurrent drought periods and higher average temperatures across the state. This literature review will inspect climate change’s influence on California’s droughts using ten sources published within the last six years by first analyzing the relationships between Earth’s rising temperatures and California’s drought-stricken periods and then discussing precipitation’s rising rates and how it could be affecting drought situations and the ecosystem.…

Global warming caused by human emissions has intensified the drought in California by 15 to 20 percent. The biggest impact of warmer temperatures has been that they intensify the effects of drought, increasing evaporation and drying out the soil. This combination of exceptional dryness and warmth have acted together to produce the most severe drought conditions experienced in California. The drought is believed to be caused by a mass of warm water in the Pacific Ocean that has drifted closer to the West Coast .Another factor which influences the california drought is precipitation. California relies upon the buildup of a snowpack in the winter to melt into runoff in the spring for the state's water supply.…

In my perspective, drought conditions in California are improving and soon, our state may even be drought free, but the following must be taken into consideration; areas in extreme drought conditions, constant dry weather without any precipitation, and most important, groundwater holders. Additionally, twelve percent of California is excluded from drought conditions, while forty-three percent of California is still subject to the extreme drought conditions. Likewise, the overall time of drought conditions are improving, although drier weather in California is increasing. Subsequently, the above-normal precipitation for soil moistures, reservoirs, and aquifers may take several years. Hence, there has been an immense effect of the droughts on…
