It's The Climm: A Time Of Life

It’s never too late I have decided to go back to school, to make a difference and impact lives; to take the challenge of living and not just existing. I am 60 years old, and it’s a “now or never” kind of a thing, but as they say “It’s never too late,” to get an associate degree in psychology and write a book. A song, a quote and a few selected women come to mind as I venture into this path of attending Colorado Christian University. The song “It’s the Climb” by Millie Cyrus sings: “It ain’t about how fast I get there, it ain’t about what’s on the other side. It’s the climb” The song goes on to describe the journey we travel in this life, and the challenges we face, and our reactions to them; to discover that our faith in ourselves becomes stronger …show more content…
As, I take a step closer to making this decision, I also, thought of women who walked in my shoes before me, as they too went back to school at this prime time of life. A woman by the name of Weladene Zedan, graduated with a bachelor’s degree, and academic honors with a job offer in 2013, her age 85. Another woman, making national headlines, Helen Small, at 90 years old, obtained a Master’s Degree in Physiological Sciences. Proving it’s never too late to make your dream come true. "You have to laugh and find humor each and every day.” "You 've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and they don 't even know it!” I might add: As in Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision the people perish” this is the absolute truth. A week after graduating and receiving her most sought out degree, fulfilling her dream, she died in her sleep peacefully, and over 2000 people attended her funeral. She left them with the song “The Rose” it so happens to be my favorite song too. It’s the song that related to my own life. My favorite part is the ending, the last verse goes “I say love. It is a flower, and you its only seed” and it finishes with, “Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow, lies the seed that with the sun’s love, in the spring becomes the rose” I replaced sun with the Son of God’s love. I become a new being who will get my degree and write a book to help children, adolescents and adults be all they can be, no matter what happens in their
