For Example, he shows the good social media does for teenagers and their awareness of the world and different events going on at the time. He states, “Although some parents see social media as detrimental to their children, it actually does them some good to have social media accounts. Teens want to be aware and informed just as much as adults.” Some, if not most, want to be even more informed and involved than adults to prove the point that they have worth in this society. Agrawal continues, “Using social media allows teens to follow organizations and causes that they believe in. While many fear that the change to the minds of the new generation to rely on technology to communicate will be detrimental, that may not be the case. Children nowadays are more dependent on technology than the generation before, but why is that a bad thing? That is just human evolution: to improve upon and use new ways to do things. You don’t hear anyone complaining about using cars to drive great distances to drive great distances quickly and comfortably instead of using a horse and buggy to go a fraction of the distance much slower and in much worse conditions. No one looks back fondly upon the times of rudimentary technology and wishes we would use those outdated forms of travel, so why is the advancement of communication to more modern versions a bad influence on young minds?
