The main item and fueling conflict in the film is gold. Majority of the characters in the film desire to have gold and will do what it takes to become wealthy. A popular scene involving gold in the movie is when Yubaba counts her gold towards the start of the film when Chirio asks for a job. There are plenty of more scenes involving gold such as the water spirit leaving behind gold specks and No-face freely handing out gold to the workers.This demonstrates that the director wanted to make sure his audience knew gold was involved in some aspect due to how much gold is shown. He included the gold to represent what many in the film desired and how it was the root of the characters greed, affecting them in some fashion. Children can easily identify
