Administration of Justice Comparative
The criminal justice system is far from perfect no matter what part of the globe you look. This is often shown through guilty parties getting away with heinous crimes, or innocent people being charged with such crimes, which many would view as a worse outcome. That is not to say proper justice does not happen. To exemplify these qualities and shortcomings, we will explore, evaluate, and compare two justice systems separated by more than just an ocean. There is no perfect criminal justice system and every system will differ on many levels for many reasons. What these differences are, and why they exist, lies in the very reason we require justice.

This means that instead of a local police depart or district needing to get legislative approval for each pass of hiring new officer like we have in place in the us, Italy hires magnitudes larger groups of officers throughout the country all at once. This is called the lottery system because of how the new officers are dealt out to regions or municipalities as seen fit. This has several advantages and drawbacks. This centralized hiring system is very thorough, going through several sections of parliament and passing strict rigor. In theory this yields much more level headed and reasonable employment and force size numbers. On the other hand this system can cause a great deal of delay and reactivity to large influxes in crime. This process takes years to go from a simple bill to having new police officers assisting forces around the country.
The italian court system can easily be seen as an investigative duel of sorts. This is because in italy, the prosecutor is the investigator and the defendant can choose to hire a lawyer to conduct their own independent investigation. The job description or responsibility of the prosecutor not to find a way to convict the defendant, but rather find the truth. We will touch on this later in the
