IT Support During the Move
The key to a successful move is to plan ahead and when it is time to move the IT department it should be done as if no one knows you have moved. The idea is to not interrupt service or as little as possible. The IT department is going to be the biggest part in terms of resources since the move may require new equipment to make the service better than it was before the move. Organizations may now consider hiring a move management consultant to help plan the move for all departments. This includes helping with the planning and what resources will be needed for the new location. The firm hired may also help with electrical issues that may arise in the future such as power outages and what types of fuses the company may need to run its equipment.
There are also other factors to consider such as firewalls, servers, network gear, and so on. Taking all of these factors into consideration ahead of time may reduce the need to try to obtain the equipment sooner rather than later. This is where having a plan in place could reduce costs and downtime while moving. It could also be beneficial in determining what equipment is needed and how it can be obtained and in place by the time the move
