TOK Prescribe Title – 1.”It is only knowledge produced with difficulty that we truly value”. To what extent do you agree with this statement?
The question: ”It is only knowledge produced with difficulty that we truly value”. To what extent do you agree with this statement?” is asking that only knowledge that is attained with some form of difficulty or struggle is the knowledge that is most valued. It is asking if knowledge that is gained with simplicity is not as appreciated compared to knowledge that is produced in a more complex method and there’s more hard work put into attaining the knowledge and that’s the knowledge that’s most cherished.
Knowledge questions to consider include, “what is meant by the production of knowledge”, “what the different values of knowledge are”, and “What different types of methods are considered to be difficult”. These three knowledge questions are mostly relevant to my prescribed title because the first considers what the production of knowledge is. It is required to understand what that knowledge question entails to fully be able to understand the prescribed title. Another question that is relevant is the different values of knowledge. What is meant by that? Is it personal value that you appreciate, like a fact you know or knowledge that is value by society as a whole such as, common sense or knowledge society values in others for instance, appreciating a doctor in contrast, to depreciating a janitor.
