According to the article, researcher Gary Remafedi and colleagues expected to find a correlation between homosexuality and suicide risks for adolescents (Remafedi). Researchers have tried to explain the increasing suicide rate for many years. The recent rise in suicide rates among bisexual and homosexual teenagers has created much controversy. Among the LGBT community some people feel there is no bearing on sexual orientation and suicide risk, while others argue it is a big part of the rising suicide rates. The present study included 131 males and 144 females who identified as bisexual, and 81 males and 38 females who identified as mostly/ 100% heterosexual (Remafedi). The purpose of the project is to communicate to lesbians, gay, bisexuals, and transgenders teens around the world that the struggles they are facing now are only temporary. Many famous figures, organizations, activists, and politicians are apart of the project. Celebrities include Ellen Degeneres, Jane Lynch, Adam Lambert, Barack Obama and many others. Large organizations such as Google, Facebook, Pixar and more are all involved in the project as well. There is a video series on Youtube directed at those facing sexual harassment. It will occur only when one accepts and appreciates their sexual orientation. Many LGBT youths are hesitant to do so in the fear of rejection, loss of important relationships, gossiping in school, and other forms of harassment such as abuse or being denied employment. Although it is unfair to discriminate against one's sexual orientation, it frequently happens in today's society. For heterosexuals, it may be difficult to understand what a homosexual loved on is dealing with. Therefor, a LGBT youth will be hesitant to “come out” in fear that they will not be validated or
