A team assignment (Developing a successful strategy for team learning) was selected by team-4 for course EM-575 (Performance Management in Technical Organizations). Team-4 was made up of three (3) students in which each member got one sub topic to cover in order to complete the assignment. Few additional activities associated with the paper like compiling, editing, proof reading and submission were also equally distributed to the team members.
An effective and continuous communication among the team members was required for a successful completion of the assignment. Team members decided to meet once a week to review the progress, discuss the issues and make decisions for path forward. In the …show more content…
5) Additionally, if the assignment was not a team paper, but an individual assignment then I should have completed all the tasks myself, including proof reading and paper submission to blackboard rather than depending on the others, which could have reduced the chance of confusion and misunderstanding.
Lesson learned from the incident (What happens if you get a second academic integrity violation):
I have learned a lot during this incident and not anticipating the same kind of violation in the future. I was considering this incident to be the first and last time happened in my educational career. I would also need to develop my skills for team assignments so a better alignment can be achieved to void such incident in the future. I would also seek advice from the teacher in future, if I find difficulties for a research based assignments.

In my personal opinion, integrity means to do the right thing always with honesty and authenticity regardless if it is at work, school or home. According to Cambridge dictionary, integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.
My personal knowledge of integrity conforms to WSU’s definition of integrity because academic dishonesty has the same or higher consequences like anyone has at home and work. The academic dishonesty is not only associated to the school, teacher or classmates, but also to the student himself because the complete knowledge and material is available at the university to shine himself but he is not taking advantage of the school’s resources.
What is intellectual property and how it is connected to plagiarism?
Intellectual property is a creativity of an individual, team or a company, who owned the patent and has a copyright on its design, material or data, whereas plagiarism is a practice of stealing or taking someone else’s idea, patent or work and showing as your own work. Intellectual property and plagiarism are both opposite to each other. However, plagiarism can be avoided if an author properly provides citation in his work and praise the creativity of the patent
