From the extract I can tell that Curley’s wife craves attention from others and that George and some of the other ranch workers are very suspicious of and dislike her. As evidenced when George says ‘Jesus, what a tramp’ he is quite disgusted by her due to her dressing somewhat provocatively and goes on to tell Lennie to ‘leave her be’ as he can tell that Lennie is attracted to her and is worried about what might happen. When Curley’s wife enters the bunkhouse ‘the rectangle of sunshine in the doorway was cut off’ this foreshadows Lennie killing Curley’s wife later on; light symbolises hope which represents the dream farm and Curley’s wife blocks it. Curley’s wife is primarily presented to be someone who could be dangerous – she wears a lot…

Friendships are symbiotic relationships, where people share their talents and qualities to help each other through life. The novel, Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, exhibits many forms of these two-way relationships, the strongest, between the characters George and Lennie, and the other friendships between Crooks and Lennie, and George and Slim. These relationships show how each pair benefit from each other’s companionship, and help each other in the harder times of life, the most important one, being the friendship of George and Lennie. The first and strongest two-way relationship shown in the novel was between Lennie and George, who share each other’s talents and abilities to fulfil each other’s needs. George helps Lennie out in all situations,…

Spends all his time saying’ what he’s gonna do to guys he doesnt like, and he dont like nobody, think i'm gonna stay in that two by four house and listen how Curley's gonna lead with his left twit”. This goes to show that she doesn't have anyone in her life that she feels like matters to her. Two men, George and Lennie, had just been run out of the last village by an angry mob because of Lennie’s childlike antics. Furthermore, it is almost always George’s responsibility to resolve any bad situations that may happen because of Lennie's actions . George does this by getting out of town and looking for work near the Salinas River in California, at the same time he watches over both himself and Lennie because Lennie is mentally disabled. Jobs are a rarity because of the economic depression, but they manage to get a job on the Tyler ranch thanks to George's communication skills. Lennie, on the other hand, did not speak with enough clarity or substance due to his disability, because of this George is the only one that takes Lennie seriously.…

Curley and his wife immediately got married which contributes to the couple’s unstable relationship. The quick marriage demonstrates that the relationship between Curley and his wife is ultimately not about love. Curley does not feel an obligation to emotionally satisfy his spouse; therefore, she is eager to be accepted by other men on the ranch. Even though Curley’s wife knows about Lennie killing the mouse and puppy, she still says to him, “‘Some people got kinda coarse hair… But mine is soft and fine. ’…

The movie Of Mice and Men is one of a classic American Literature, written by John Steinbeck during The Great Depression. The story contains a plot that traces a journey of two characters, George and Lennie, who migrates around to look for a job. I personally have read this book few years ago, and I was really interested to read because it involves realism in it. The character George and his friend Lennie had nothing in the world except each other and lived with a dream that one day they will have their own land. The movie was interesting in a way that it tells us a lot on human condition and presents a great theme of isolation, vision of American dream and loss of paradise.…

Even though Lennie acts like a child, George still needs him even though he may not know it . George would feel as if he had let Lennie’s Aunt Clara down by not protecting Lennie. Also, George has never left Lennie’s side, no matter how much trouble he’s gotten in. For instance, when Lennie got in trouble in Weed, George didn’t have to come, but he willingly did. At the end of the book when Lennie had left the ranch for accidentaly killing Curley’s wife, George had found Lennie right in the spot he was told to go.…

They are men who only have each other. Neither of their families are living or known to be alive. Early in the book, Lennie talked about leaving George and George replied, “Your Aunt Clara wouldn’t like you running off by yourself, even if she is dead” (Steinbeck 7). George enjoys the company of Lennie and he also realizes that Lennie can’t survive without him.
