When broken down into primary and secondary sources, there are 24 primary sources and 3 secondary sources. The primary sources are individual authors, or a collection of individual people, who wrote the material. Within the article a majority of the sources are primary. For example, on the reference page in the article, the first reference mentioned is a person and therefore is a primary resource. For secondary sources, there were not many. An example of the secondary source is the second reference on the reference page in the article. This reference is the American Association of College of Nursing (AACN) and its article “Faculty shortages in baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs: Scope of the problem and using strategies for expanding the supply”. This is an example of a secondary source due to the fact that it is an organization or a collection of people gathering data from primary sources.
