Saturday, March 26 A lecture overflowing with grace was taught by Pastor Deborah during the 2nd day of the North East region Easter retreat From John Chapter 18 1:40.

Pastor Deborah preached "Now we will see the last moment of the lords life. The most painful moment of the cross. " she added "His disciples could not see how it was affecting him, the coming cross. They didn't quite understand. We are very lucky to see what he prayed, how he served them in his final hour. These beautiful pictures are here as blessings for us every Easter."
This was the Israel Passover season. The people were once slaves and God released them, but before he did, he taught them to keep this tradition. Through this event, they were freed. Jesus celebrated it himself.

In John, it was said that he did it 3 times. The last supper was his final celebration, and after it, the cross was coming.

The pastor expressed as she went beyond verse one that "Judah wasn't a special case from the other diciples. When Jesus wahsed their feet, Judah was washed too. And when Jesus took them to the mount of olives, he took him as well. He was close and intimate with Jesus in those 3 years of the ministry. He was just as much a part of the community of Christ as any on of us today. Jesus loved and trusted him. but Judah took that trust, that love, and misused it because he was blind inside. He was unable to recognize the trust the lord had for him."
As it says in the quoted Psalm 41:9, he turned against the lord out of that blindness. He was only outwardly apart of the group that felt great love from Jesus. He used his intimate relationship to hurt

"It's crazy to me every time I study the gospels and see how horrible the people were to him and were in general. I mean, it gets deeper and deeper each time I read. I never knew Barabbas name meant son of God(therefore actually being blasphemous in itself). Pilot couldn't find any charge, but his political ties lead him to give in. But the fact that the people hated Jesus so much that they would let a murder, a rebel, a true blasphemer go is insane to me. There is so much depth to our sin and I'm blessed to get to see the truth about mankind(Me included). learning this helps me desire change"

Another testimony was shared. "The irony of the Jews doing so much just to celebrate the Passover while doing everything in their power including breaking laws to murder an innocent man shows me why religion in the form of rule following is dead. The heart can be corrupt while people act as if they are good. But following Jesus is what we truly

For over 2000 years, followers of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, have been remembering His death and resurrection through the regular practice of the Lord’s Supper, also known as the Eucharist or the Holy Communion, as well as annual traditions. Likewise, for over 3500 years, people of the Jewish faith have been remembering an earlier deliverance through the Passover meal, Passover festival and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, as well as other rituals that precede and follow those mentioned. The Christian practice of the Lord’s Supper was created by Jesus during His last participation in the annual Passover meal before His crucifixion and is referred to as the Last Supper. Through the years, some scholars have questioned if Jesus and His disciples…

Ready to be an acceptable burnt-offering to God, he looked up to heaven, and said, “O Lord God Almighty, the Father of your beloved and blessed Son Jesus Christ, by whom we have received the knowledge of you, the God of angels, powers and every creature, and of all the righteous who live before you, I give you thanks that you count me worthy to be numbered among your martyrs, sharing the cup of Christ and the resurrection to eternal life, both of soul and body, through the immortality of the Holy Spirit. May I be received this day as an acceptable sacrifice, as you, the true God, have predestined, revealed to me, and now fulfilled. I praise you for all these things, I bless you and glorify you, along with the everlasting Jesus Christ, your beloved Son. To you, with him, through the Holy Ghost, be glory both now and forever.…

After the incident last described, Roger Chillingworth had a sufficiently plain path before him. Calm as he appeared, there was now an awakened malice (1) in this old man. He began to plot a more intimate revenge upon his enemy than any mortal had ever wreaked (2). He would make himself the clergyman’s one trusted friend. All that guilty sorrow hidden away from the world--a world that would have been much more apt to forgive him--would be solely revealed to him, the Pitiless—to him, the Unforgiving!…

I’m not sure if it my background or my lack of previous theological study, but this was a very unique presentation for me to view. Today’s scripture starts with Jesus who wanted to be alone. In the “Message” translation, verse 24 translated as, “He entered a house there, where he didn’t think he would be found.” For me, it was kind of interesting that Jesus did not wanted to be found? I guess, as a human being, Jesus might needed some rest. Anyways Jesus was not in the area of Tyre to do some wonderful minstries as we had seen.…

The true meaning of Christmas, or rather the profoundness of the gift, and what it means. At this time of years, there is tremendous love that surges through our family’s, our churches, our school, and our communities. The love is imbedded into our American and English cultures across every level and every fiber, and this huge upwelling of compassing and love starts in the United States about two weeks before Thanksgiving, climbs to a peak on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and then for a week after Christmas to a second peak on New years Day and New Years Eve, and this seasonal feeling continues for about two weeks into the new year. What is remarkable about this time of year, is not so much the time of year, or how cold it is out, or if…

The Written Word In my own Catholic faith I attend Mass at eleven on Sundays, but occasionally with my fiancé when he is able with his work schedule we attend his family church as well. This past Sunday for Easter I attended with his family to the High Street United Methodist church in Geneva, Indiana. It was a beautiful sunny, Sunday morning. I happen to be marrying son of the Pastor, so going into the church as a family makes it extra special. Since my soon to be Mother-in-law is the Pastor, it seems only fitting that I choose to focus my reflection on the element of scripture.…
