Guest Speaker Israel Vargas
September 23, 2016 Israel Vargas, came to 4th period honors english class and gave a speech to the class of all his life. From how he got to the U.S. and how he now runs a shelter for men,women, and children.

Something that Mr.Vargas said during the speech to the class was how he was able to get two associate degrees and a minor while being in prison for 12 years.What I think he is trying to say is that no matter where you stand at you can still be successful in life. If Mr.Vargas was able to get those degrees in prison imagine what us as students that are not in prison can get if we were to try to be successful like Mr.Vargas did. One of the reasons he entered to school was because he wanted security, so he saw that the gang leader had security when he went to school or wherever he went and he wanted to be secured so he started to get close to the gang leader and got into school and in school he got 2 associate degrees and a minor for computer science. What we can take away from Mr.Vargas is that in other to succeed …show more content…
You will be wasting around 1,500 monthly to cover all those payments up. 15000 x 12 = 18000 you only have 1000 left to waste around. And that is only living by yourself now with a child a year you spend around 15000 to 17000 a year.With an associate degree you earn 23000 so now you have 5000 left for yourself. Perhaps Mr.Vargas is suggesting to go for the best degree you think will help you pay your expenses and for you to live happy with your family. It is important to get a higher degree because it will make your life much easier when it comes to paying those monthly bills. I also think that Mr.Vargas was trying to let us know to go further and try to get that higher
