At the end of World War I the United became isolated from the destruction and cost after the war and wanted to avoid being involved in European conflict. With increased conflict from rising power dictators Adolf Hitler from Germany, Joseph stalin from the soviet union, and Hideki tojo from Japan the United States tried to stay neutral. The United States was brought into the war, there effort to avoid European conflict and aid its allies had failed. The events leading to the bombing at Pearl Harbor by Japan moved the United states from being isolated to being involved in War War II.

In March 11, 1941 the lend lease act in passed to help those countries that lacked the supplies necessary to fight against the Germans this act permitted selling, lending, or exchanging arms and supplies . This mostly implied to the British were desperately in need of help, as they were going bankrupt and didn’t have the currency to pay for the military goods, food, and raw materials they needed from the United States. This finally brought the United States into World War II, After ending trade of raw material with Japan decided to attack the United states naval fleet. The Japanese were able to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded. There were many actions that brought the United states into the war such as passing the lend lease act which pretty much sold military weapons to the British. But the attack on pearl harbor finally did it bring the United States into World War II.
