Isolation In William Golding's Lord Of The Flies

As I am furthering my reading into Lord of the Flies, I am becoming more enthralled into the storyline and I am beginning to see the characters’ true colors and their true behaviors when placed in isolation for a prolonged period of time. A line that shows one of the most crucial dilemmas in this portion of the text is “ There was a ship. Out there. You said you’d keep the fire going and you let it out!” In this portion of the text, Ralph is demonstrating his infuriation with Jack and the hunters because their fire, their main source to receive attention and eventually be rescued from the island, had went out from the hunters’ neglect, and a ship was nearby as well potentially solidifying their chances at being rescued from the island and returning home. This was probably the biggest mistake made thus far out of all of the children on the island. I personally believe that this was by far a very stupid mistake made by Jack and the hunters.

I can understand wholeheartedly what it is like to have great ideas, and have borderline nobody on board with it. As well as for people who I am supposed to be working with totally doing something uncalled for ruining things. I experience this the most while working in a group on projects or other assignments of common sorts. Questions that I have for the author so far are, How is this assault affecting Piggy emotionally, seeing how he is already abandoned on an island? How much younger are the littluns than the other kids? And lastly, How are the kids’ bodies being affected health-wise from living on the island without sufficient nutrition, and will this come back to harm them in the long run? Though the kids have a bathing pool to remain clean, they’re also exposed to potentially harmful nature, and the littluns are known for being dirty and not bathing
