Isolation In Albert Camus The Guest

Albert Camus in the story of “The Guest” is trying to communicate one of the experiences of humans under distressed situations while shaping their decisions in such isolation. We can all decide at some point in our lives to make better decisions weather we believe in it or not as far we understand our sense of worth. Camus is trying to present the morals of these characters in the story. An isolated environment of French occupied Algerian territory, where the story takes place. Daru a teacher who teaches on the top of the cold mountain where he likes to live in his own isolated world. Daru avoids being looked at as a traitor from either side whether it is a French army or an Algerian people. He is refusing to have accusations on him true and proving to stand his ground by finally willingly walk towards the jail. This type of situations are presented to us on different stages of our lives and how we see them and make decisions make impactful difference in our own consciousness and others life or vise versa. What we do not know is sometimes scary and uncomfortable in our own small bubble, and when presented with some scary challenges some fall and some figure out to be existential.
The Guest is a great story to understand people in certain situations making decisions either positively or negatively. In our society some of us have choices and we choose a path according to our own understanding, education and training which either lead us to a great life ahead or destruction. Some of us get scared too soon and drop the ball by making an uneducated decision or not investigation into the matter patiently.
