What Is ISIS Manipulate Islam?

Most identify the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria as being an Islamic terrorist group. Whether or not ISIS is actually Islamic has been up for debate. One thing that is for certain is that ISIS does use, proclaim and manipulate Islam in its’ ever-lasting ploy to lure recruits to join their ranks.
For instance, one of the ways this is done is through imams. Imams serve as the leaders of Muslim mosques all across the world. So, needless to be said, imams serve as important authoritative figures in Muslim communities. People typically don’t question what they say. So, it is easy for imams with radical Islamist views to plant their “seeds” into the minds of the youth across the world. Some of the more notorious imams known for their support

Isis is taking the meanings of today to apply to the Quran which was written ages ago. Also, the Quran similarly as the Bible, has passages that have detailed things that happened in the earlier parts of history and things that it instructs its followers to do. Isis typically refers to passages of historical information and tries to use that as instructions for the way that God wants people to be. This even applies to the rape and slavery of the Yazidi women and children.
It does say in the Quran that during war, the winning side is allowed to take a reward, meaning slaves. However, Isis is only in a war in their own minds. It is a war that they created and started. So, for them this makes it possible for them to enslave Yazidi women even though the Yazidis were sovereign and had nothing to do with a war against Isis or Muslim persons of the region.
This shows that most Isis members, in actuality, don’t know anything about their own religion. This is why it easy for radical imams like Anjem Chowdry to come and influence them so easily. Isis’ views are similar to that of Wahhabism which is the strictest form of Islam that there is. Coincidentally Wahhabism is the form of Islam that is practiced by the country of Saudi Arabia, a country that funds terrorism and has spent billions of dollars to spread Wahhabism all over the

What also needs to be made clear is that ISIS is an example of Muslim Fundamentalism. There are three critical things to note regarding Fundamentalism. One, religious text is verbatim, meaning each word is taken in a literal context. Second, religious text is inherent, meaning it has no error. Third and finally, there is always a political agenda.…

It is proper to compare the WW2 Nazi’s to the modern day ISIS terrorists because of their similar reason to eliminate a certain religion because they think it is “inferior” and/or “satanic worshipers”. The Nazi’s were one group that changed history forever with its horrible acts against its own species, that will be remembered for centuries to come, unless something similar happens to that extent in the future. The Nazi group was controlled by one and only one man, Adolf Hitler, whom thought that all Jewish, Homosexual, Mentally Ill and/or had Physical Deformities should be exterminated. Now, the ISIS is a modern day “chip off the ole block” of the now hated Nazi party. It has set its sights on the Yazidis, a religion that is from middle east…

Advance Australia Fair. Many people have different meanings for this phrase. Some think it means that we must “advance our country to conquer others”; and that we must be the best. Some believe that to advance means to advance in technology, and that we should be the producers of projects inducing millions, but in fact, Advance Australia Fair does not mean any of these things. Along with our multicultural country, we should accept people of different cultures and religions into our communities.…

In order to have loyal followers the terrorist organizations first goal is to take their new recruits on the path of radicalization. This is described by as “The growth of radical groups is a self‐organizing process driven by aggregation of individual behavior, where the entry catalyst into an extremist cell most likely takes the form of someone who recruits one, two or three other participants.” (Helfstein, 2012). In most instances, the radicalization process is a delicate procedure that is responsible for extremists. The Moghaddam’s model “Staircase to Terrorism” is a great example of how one could fall into being radicalized.…

Muslims firmly believe that the person who doesn’t believe in Allah as he is required to, is a disbeliever who would be doomed to Hell eternally. Thus, one of the primary responsibilities of the Muslim ruler is to spread Islam throughout the world, saving them from eternal damnation. So, now that ISIS has established a caliphate, it must expand into non-Muslim territory, and is obligated to do so at least once a year. Its tactics like beheadings, crucifixions, and enslavement of women and children are meant to terrorize its enemies and hasten the end of conflict. For this main reason is that territory is essential to the existence of the Islamic State.…

During their existence ISIS has made it clear that their actions are justified by their religion. In the article, ‘Islamic State group uses only half of a Quran verse to justify beheadings — see what’s in the other half’ they talk about how ISIS is using verses from the Quran to justify their violent crimes. The verse that was used is “At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind the captives firmly. Therefore is the time for either generosity or ransom.”. This shows that even though ISIS partakes in violent crimes they are only doing it because they believe their religion not only allows, but also encourages their…

Isis wants everyone to follow their traditions. They have a military background, which gives them access to weapons. The leader of Isis Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was detained in a U.S. prison for four years, then he was let go and that is when he started Isis. The Islamic State has one goal, to create a New World Order, the caliphate. They want a world system which operates through only the Islamic form of norms and ideals. The same idea is evident in the World State; everyone thinks the same and no one questions it. Likewise, both can only separate people into two groups. In ISIS’ case, it is the believers and the non-believers, seeing the believers as superior and the non-believers as their enemy, anyone in between should either be the killed or forced to pick a side.…

has ever dealt with, the reason why is because of their creative recruiting over social media and online messaging in an attempt to inspire people to turn on their nation, by doing so ISIS can recruit conveniently anywhere in the world. Scott Shane, a writer, claims that “Some merely express anger at American foreign policy or at what they see as mistreatment of Muslims overseas. Others go further, trying to reach Islamic State territory or plotting violence at home" (Scott). This quote explains how ISIS targets the recruits by striking them with persuasion and why they have a sense of hate towards the United States. The ones that find themselves in the thought of turning on their country start to plan violence and even attacks on their country.…

Iraq and Syria have been in a civil war with Isis taking over a lot of their land and enforcing strong laws on the people living there. It states in the article “How far does ISIS Global Reach extend” that“ISIS militants have brought their hardline version of Islam to wide areas of Syria and Iraq, imposing brutal laws and killing people who they deem "unbelievers."(Mullen). This explains how Isis has killed many muslims who did not give in to their version of Islam. Muslims were killed and still are being killed because Isis has taken control of their countries, lives and if they try to impose their rules they simply end their lives. The words “Killing people they deem unbelievers” proves how Isis has affected the lives of muslims because it shows the brutal things isis has done to muslims because they do not follow their strict rules and even go as far to killing them to prove a point.…

A specific dystopian trait that ISIS fulfills is the devotion to a figurehead by citizens of the society. This is clearly portrayed through the Islamic State, specifically through the evidence that “all Muslims are ordered to swear allegiance to their leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and migrate to territory under the state’s control” (“What Is ‘Islamic State’? – BBC News). This displays how the leaders of ISIS have influenced their followers, turning what may have seemed as a perfect utopia from the inside, to a corrupt, dystopian world when viewed from the outside. This change occurs as the flaws in ISIS are discovered.…

As religions grow, many interpretations come up, particularly during a time of crisis. However, many contend that organizations that have a theology which is founded on hate do not represent any of the traditions in Islam. Many devotees of Islam argue that Islam is a religion of peace. The truth of this assertion may not be entirely accurate; this is because many militant groups carry out their activities through based on a puritanical strain of Islam that is known as Jihadi Salafism. It can be described as a medieval interpretation of Islam that developed when the Arabs were not in good terms with the Europeans as well as the East Asians.…
