9/11’s Residual Aftermath Felt by Disadvantaged Muslim Americans
Muslim Americans, particularly Arab Americans or other individuals who display a darker, more Middle-Eastern appearing skin tone, are one of the many disadvantaged, or subdominant, groups in America (Adams, 2013). Unique from typical subdominant groups that only labeled by one primary oppressing characteristic such as Jewish Americans and their Judaism or African Americans with their complexion, Muslim Americans will often be oppressed by both their religion and their skin tone.
