According to Abu-Ras, Gheith & Cournos (2008) and Rassoll (2000), mental illness may also be perceived as a test or punishment from God. At time, illness may be seen as a privilege to draw more closely to Allah while giving less attention to the health care. TRANSPLANTS, ORGAN DONATION AND BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS
Every Muslim has different perspective over transplants and organ donation. Some Muslims accept the technique while it’s unacceptable by others. The researchers have proven that reasons why patients never participated in the organ donors program could be as a result of religious concerns. Hence, violating the human body, whether living or dead, is prohibited in Islam. However, most Islamic scholars support organ donation while several individuals oppose the idea because it’s a traditional for Muslims to be buried within 24 hours.
