They are going to continue expanding if no one intervenes, so they must be contained now. History professor Jeremy Suri says that sending ground troops into Isis’s territory would be a bad idea because, “President George W. Bush promised to “win” what he called the “Global War on Terror,” but when he left office in 2009, Afghanistan and Iraq remained violent nests for terrorist groups,” and he adds, “Obama initially increased American forces in Afghanistan, and he escalated the use of drone strikes. Seven years later, the terrorists continue to dominate much of the Middle East and Central Asia.” Suri is in essence, saying that we shouldn’t send ground troops to defeat Isis because we didn’t completely get rid of all the terrorists the first few times around. The thing is, we will never get rid of every single terrorist. The goal here is to defeat Isis who is the biggest terrorist organization we have ever seen. They are so out of their minds that even Al-Qaeda wants nothing to do with them. Like Tim Lister mentions, “There has been a significant attack directed or inspired by ISIS every 84 hours since June 8 in cities outside the war zones in Iraq, Syria, Sinai in Egypt and Libya.” That number is hard to believe and if nothing is done to stop them, then their next victim could be you or me. Isis is a real threat and we have to understand that. Al-baghdadi once wasn’t a threat, and look what happened. Isis isn’t a “JV” team as President Obama has referred to them, they are much more dangerous than that. I will personally volunteer to go and fight these cowards as soon as the commands are made. If giving up my life means millions of others will live peacefully, then I’ll take it. Women should not be burned and killed because they refuse to have sex with a man. Children should be able to live a normal childhood without being brainwashed with nonsense about chopping others’ heads
