Beah war is not just a conflict between two nations or parties but it’s a conflict
between death, revenge, and survival. Ishmael Beah is a victim of war that took
place in Sierra Leone. His lieutenant easily turns him into a ruthless killing
machine. The Lieutenant use a false promise to avenge the death of his parents
and drugs to manipulate the desperate child who is willing to do anything to see
his family again and to survive.

soldier became addict to the drugs they had no where else to get it apart from
their lieutenant therefore the shall stay loyal to him for the to accumulate more
drugs. The soldier had lost their family and themselves in that horrible journey
the lieutenant captures the range these boys had towards the rebel’s for
separating them with their family and use it to bring out the feeling of revenge
out of these boys to avenge the death of their parent. These boys weren’t just
soldier but had become killer machine all in the mane of revenge and survival. Ishmael loved his family and was willing to do anything to see them again
even if it meant killing other civilian. The writer became an unwilling boy soldier
during the war just for the seek to see his family. Being alone without his family
was an emotional stress. At the age of twelve Beah had his promotion as a junior
lieutenant for all the cruel work he had done. Beah maintained his cruel chores
and understand that this is how thing was supposed to be and the only way to live
was to accepts it and to embrace it therefore he enjoyed it each day he was
