Isaac Newton Research Paper

Isaac Newton was a very famous mathematician and physicist and is know known as one of the most influential men ever. He has contributed to many fields and has helped with advancements in society. Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1643 in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. His father died 3 months before he was born. Newton was expected to die after birth as he was a very weak baby. Newton was sent to live with his grandmother as his mam had married another man. This traumatic experience gave young Isaac a feeling of insecurity which stayed with him throughout his life. He went back to his mom after her other husband died. She took him out of school so he could be a farmer and take care of the land, which ended up being a really bad idea as he didn’t like it at all.In 1661 Newton was enrolled in Cambridge University, where his life would be changed. During his 18 months back home he developed many scientific theories and made advancements in math. He built on the knowledge of calculus and created a theory. He built off other peoples work, and made it better. Newton was also very knowledgeable in science which uses calculus in order to calculate motion. Newton ran into a problem as he couldn't calculate the slope at a certain point on a curve. Newton and a partner created a derivative function that would give the slope at any point on a function. The name for calculating the slope of a curve or derivative of a curve or function is called differentiation or differential calculus. Establishing this made is easy to calculate the slope of any point on a curve. All you have to do is plug in x into the function. It is still used today and can be used in a variety of circumstances.
