At the top of all towers facing pools, beaches, or at the bottom or top of all the slides are lifeguards. There to protect all the lives that go into their waters. Isaac always thought lifeguards were cool. When asked why he always thought they were cool he replied saying, “ Because when I was little I would see a lifeguard and look up to them as any other kid would. Just the image of being a lifeguard is cool to everyone” (Banuelos). As a kid the job of a lifeguard had always fascinated him. For Isaac it is often troublesome for him to enforce the rules to adults older than him. Isaac has encounter many adults who disrespect him for only trying to tell them the rules of the pool. Most adults are used to bossing there children around and don't like to be told what to do when it comes from someone that could be the same age as their own child. He would simply repeated himself if they don't listen or have the manger go speak to them. Isaac once had an older women speak foul language towards him after he was trying to enforce the dress code for a swimmer. Swimmers are not allowed in the waters with cotton shirts, because the person has a higher risk of drowning and the cotton in the shirts upsets the balance of the chemicals in the water.
