Is Year Long Schooling Good?

Do you think year long schooling is good? Well only four of the kids in my class thought so. Does that change your opinion? If not read this, im sure it will. Were not only thinking about the kids by the way, this could affect the school in a negative way also.

If there is year long schooling, schools will be hurting. If we have it then there will be no time for maintenance for the school. With no cleaning up, the school be less sanitized and the kids will get sick when they go there, this means they don’t dust, wash or clean the desks tables etc. But they do stay clean because as long as it's a clean place they will atleast give them a chance!

A form of schooling introduced in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s was a year round school system (Pedersen, "The History of School and Summer Vacation"). This system allowed for more days within the learning period and allotted for students to get more out of their education. Research from all the way back to a hundred years ago has shown that students tend to lose information and their footing during a traditional summer vacation (Fairchild, "Why and how communities should focus on summer learning."). The current system most public schools within the…

One obstacle would be the costs of year-round schools. Since the school, never officially has an off period, maintenance on the school buildings can be difficult. “Many argue that implementing year-round schooling would be too costly, as it would lead to increased spending on teacher and staff salaries…,” (O’Sullivan 411). Another is that cities where tourism is high would not be in favor of this program due to the fact that less people would be vacationing during their peak months.…
