“We are not evil. We don't harm or seduce people. We are not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you. We have families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult. This religion is not a joke. We are not what you think we are from looking at T.V. We are real. We laugh, we cry. We are serious. We have a sense of humor. You don't have to be afraid of us. We don't want to convert you. And please don't try to convert us. Just give us the same right we give you--to live in peace. We are much more similar to you than you think.” This beautiful quote was said by the another, Margot Adler, a Wiccan priestess. Yes, Wicca does help a person. One way Wicca can help a person is by spells. Thus, spells help Wiccans by giving them an understanding or a way to deal with their problems. For example, is the Sleep Spell. The Sleep Spell: by this candle I do sleep, hidden from the day, in the night so deep. O Lady Moon, guide my dreams, cover me with your beautiful beams. As the candle flame dies, plase close my eyes. Allow me to wake in the Warmth of the Sun. This spell will help a Wiccan by helping them sleep, this is like a safety blanket for a young child. What that means is that it will make a person think that it is actually helping, and make them realaxes. Additionally, Wiccans also go to covens to help them. A covens is a place were Witches or Wiccans gather to do rituals, and to celebrate the changing of seasons. Also, http://www.wicca-spirituality.com/covens.html says “Covens are Wiccan ritual groups where the membership is fixed. Only those initiated into the group can attend the rituals, and attendance may be mandatory.” So, this means that that members in a coven will help one and other, and they will do rituals to fix or help each others problems. Also, Wiccans will talk to their Gods as a way to help them. Wiccan Gods or Goddesses are a main part of a Wiccans or Witches life because they are earth or the mood, and will guide Wiccans or Witches to their spiritual paths. In http://psychiclibrary.com/beyondBooks/wicca/ states “The most commonly worshipped god within Wicca (and there are many variations) is the Horned God, who represents a masculine power. The counterpart is the Triple Goddess, who represents a female power. The triple Goddess signifies the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone.” So, what this means is that the Horned God is more for men because it will empower them and is a sign of bravery. Also, this shows that the Triple goddess is more for women because it give off a motherly vibe, and will give women a lovable lust

Druidism is a religion as old as time. Its members consist of people from all walks of life, and its practices are as diverse as the Druids themselves. They do not actively recruit new members but are happy to include any who show an interest in embracing the “…. spiritual journey of the individual’s soul, one that honours each unique vision and expression” (Orr, 1998, p. 13). Important questions to ask before committing to a life of Druidism is how the followers create order and meaning within their belief system; what are their central beliefs; what ritual practices and ethical views do they adhere to; and how do the Druids beliefs compare to those of other religions.…

I hesitate to use the word witchcraft when describing Tituba’s powers in I, Tituba, Black Witch of Salem by Maryse Conde because she herself hesitates to label them so. For Tituba, the word witchcraft is darkened by the negative stereotypes and images placed upon it by not only the white Puritanical community she enslaves herself in, but also by the black Barbadian community she finds her home in. Tituba defines her powers as a source of good, a position she inherits from the woman who raised her, and a position the novel hesitates to applaud. Her definition of magic derives from Mama Yaya, her caretaker and teacher. Tituba is raised in a bubble by Mama Yaya, as she is the only influence on Tituba during a majority of her childhood.…

Although Druidism isn’t a well-known form of Witchcraft, it is an interesting one. Druidism is the lesser known cousin of Paganism and Wicca. All three share similar values and practices, though Druidism introduces a slightly more violent possibility. ‘Druid’ refers to a Celtic person with a high level of expertise in magical religious practices. Druidism had its best run in northwestern Europe around 2,000 years ago.…

I knew that people who practice Wicca have a deep appreciation of nature. I knew that there was a female deity in the religion, and assumed that the goddess was Mother Nature. I knew that there are rituals and spells involved in Wicca, but knew nothing about the processes or purposes. I knew that sage could be burnt and inferred that, like in many other cultures, the purpose of the sage was to cleanse. I have heard that witches dance in the woods but…

Goddesses are to be worshiped to by kings and all mortal men. Another argument may be that while mortal women may not be superior to men, goddesses are. They possess both physical strength and the intelligence to influence others. My refute to this comes from the incident with Ishtar. While she may have been able to convince Anu to lend her the Bull of Heaven, Gilgamesh and Enkidu were still no match for the beast.…

Prior to the age of religious reformation and the Late Middle Ages, witchcraft did not hold such a negative connotation. In fact, it was divided into two – white magic and black magic. White magic was used by healers, wise men and women, as well as others who fit this category. Black magic, on the other hand, were practiced by those who sought to harm others, thus used their abilities for evil. It was this kind of magic that got a person labelled as a witch rather than the titles used for the practitioners of white magic.…
