The issues in the text were pressure from family as Chris’s dad is putting pressure on him to do well in school and in life. For example, Chris’s dad states that he doesn’t want Chris running of with Chloe as it would ruin his chances of being successful. The relationship in the play that was of the main focus was the relationship between Chloe and Chris. Their relationship was a complicated one as Chloe was a strong character who didn’t get bossed around where Chris had a weaker character who was bossed around and bullied by his dad. Chris thought that he would save Chloe from her troubles but that idea was what lead to their breakup. Chloe’s strong personality meant that she didn’t need saving, she could save herself instead of having the man (Chris) come in and save her so she pushed Chris away. I can relate to this as I have pushed a man away that I cared about and now wish that I hadn’t and I believe that is what Chloe was feeling after she pushed Chris away. Family is the other major theme in this play and is shown with the relationships between parents and child. Both Chloe and Chris had trouble relationships with their parents which can be reflected on society as everyone has a problem with their family, be it a major or a minor
