Is This Generation Really More Informed?
Do you think that this current generation of millennials is less informed than others? I know that this generations millennials are less informed because there is technology that allows millennials to inform them, but they take that technology for granted. Palder and Sameeha looked into how technology and sites such as social media affects the current generation of millennials. If you were a senior or older person you would watch the news and be informed. I think that this generation of millennials is less informed than the others. There are some people that think that this generations’ millennials are not more informed because, there are some subjects or topics that millennials are not aware of.

Another person who supports my claim is Avelardo Rivera because she states “We subconsciously filter out what we don’t want to be informed on,”. A third person that supports my claim is Flores, she stated that “People just seeks what interests them,”. People have the ability to be informed at their fingertips like a TV remote because then people can put the channel on the news and if people have a phone they can go to media websites.
Like I said before there are many people who think otherwise of my claim. One is Audrey James because she stated “We are generation of everything,”. A second person who supports this claim is Jeffery Kargol because he stated “ I believe it’s a lot easier to find information because there are a lot more resources at our fingertips,”. A recent study shows that sixty-four percent of millennials are keeping up on what's going on in the world.
In conclusion,I think that millennials are unaware what is going on in the world. The reason why is because the only millennials that are informed, are the ones that want to be informed. However, there are some people who think that millennials are informed on what's going on in the world. The reason why is because they have Facebook and

Out of all the generations that are still alive today, from the Greatest Generation to the Baby Boomers to Gen X, this generation of Millennials and Gen Z are, by far, the dumbest generation. Or so many people seem to believe. They argue that the youth have seemingly no knowledge of even the most basic information and with the increasing availability of technology at their fingertips, their ambition and academic intelligence will continue to deteriorate. However, those under the age of 30 have actually proven themselves to be more sagacious, street smart, and socially aware than the previous generations. Calling them the dumbest generation is an obvious misnomer.…

In his book “The Dumbest Generation”, Mark Bauerlein, a social critic and professor, explains his stance regarding the Millennials. Bauerlein claims that students in the last ten years have two major differences compared to previous generations: declined reading habits and declined general knowledge. Bauerlein states these differences, but he fails to clarify the meaning of ‘general knowledge’ and how it is measured. While individuals under the age of thirty aren’t the least intelligent generation, their lack of ambition has decreased along with their interest in acquiring information.…

How could having access to more information cause someone to become less knowledgeable? A term more acceptable to describe this generation of Americans would be “lazy”, as young Americans are often more prone to Google information repeatedly, than to remember it for future involvements (Source 3). In his book, The Dumbest Generation, Mark Bauerlein claims that those who constitute the population of individuals under the age of thirty are members of the “dumbest generation”. He even goes to such an extreme as saying, “You guys don’t know anything,” (Bauerlein). However, is this not true? In today’s society, the students in the education system have gone from genuinely attempting to learn subject matter to simply just caring about letter grades and percentages, rather than retaining the knowledge which they are taught. In today’s technologically savvy world, any information one needs, is just a click of a button or the tap of a screen away, allowing one to get by in society as long as they have the basic, fundamental skills needed to…
