The article mainly speaks about working mothers and how this has positive effects on their children. Elle magazine interviewed Professor Dr. Kathleen McGinn from Harvard business school about a study she conducted regarding The influence of maternal employment on adult children 's work and home outcomes. The study used data collected by the international social survey program across 24 countries in Latin America Europe North America and Asia. It included children both girls and boys of working mothers. The children were all under 14 when their mothers started to work. Then the results observed were as follows:

McGinn, was not only that the daughters of the working mothers had jobs like their mothers, but that they held higher supervisory jobs. The study proves that working women are as equal as men are in the workforce. When asked about the reasons behind the given results of the study, McGinn mentioned that the main reason was that the children perception is affected by their working mothers. In other words, living in a household where mom has a job, working is perceived as are "right" and "normal" for women. In terms of adult children happiness and stability in life, it was proven that they were not affected by the working mothers. Professor McGinn mentioned that some studies showed that children of working mothers are living an equally happy and stable life as those children with stay at home moms. Social scientists who used to believe that stay at home moms is better for the children now changed their attitude in favor of the working moms. This change is due to more people are adopting equality between men and women. Dr. McGinn concluded that regardless of whether a person works or not, children should be taught to see men and women as equal.
