Unlike the King Fahad Mosque in Los Angeles, the ICNC’s building is very simple. It is not built as a mosque it is just a business building turned into a mosque. So it is much smaller and simple. The crowd also is very small compared to LA mosque. The same taking shoe off rule before entering the prayer area applies in this location. People take their shoes of and clean themselves before the prayer or you can come clean and ready to start the prayer. I went there for Friday prayer. I took my shoes off and put in the cubes located in the entrance. There is not separate praying area for women in ICNC. The imam was in the front, men lined up just in front of the Imam and in the back all the women lined up for the Friday prayer. It was mostly men and fewer women in the room. It started at 1 pm and lasted about ten minutes or so. The imam was wearing a white long sleeve shirt and a big black shawl on top of the white shirt. He had short hair and no beard or mustache. Worshippers were dressed casually and some women were wearing headscarf. I know some location requires women to wear head scarf and women cannot wear pants but this location is more modern and some women were wearing pants with no scarf. I was wearing long black dress and a black scarf. This was not the first time I wear scarf so it did not feel weird. I have lined up with all the other women in the very back. I join them with the prayer. Again, I kind of know how the things are being done therefore it was not too uncomfortable joining the crowd and praying. The whole prayer was in Arabic. After the prayer ended the imam started his preach. The preaching was in English but the imam included Arabic language within his speech. He greeted everyone by saying welcome brothers and sister. He said that there is no god but Allah and the Muhammed is the messenger of Allah. Then he said speak truth all the times be a good Muslim just Allah requests. He said Allah
