The movie ‘The Guide: The Biologist of Gorongosa’ exhibits how the citizens of developing countries are affected by their environment. An important question that is posed through the movie is should these citizens of developing countries care about their environment or focus more on surviving and creating a better economy. I believe that the environment is more important than becoming more affluent. In order to build a better economy, we should focus on educating the denizens of the area.

In the movie ‘The Guide: The Biologist of Gorongosa’, E.O. Wilson is able to provide a solution to this by educating the young. In the movie, E.O. Wilson rounds up many of the children of the village in order to do a vast search of the surrounding area for all the insects and animals present in the vicinity. When the children bring the insects to E.O. Wilson, he is able to cite the name of the insect and record it. The children were clearly interested and intrigued by all these different insects, showing that they are although ignorant, they are willing to learn about the environment and maybe even go on to protect the environment. E.O. Wilsons way of showing kids the huge amount of life in their environment is a great way to spread awareness about the environment . The simple fact that the children are interested in learning about this insects furthers the fact that we should educate the inhabitants about the environment.
In conclusion, educating the mass about the environment is an important part of the growth of a nation's economy. In the movie, E.O. Wilson provides an excellent example of educating the villagers about the environment. By educating the residents about the environment, it will further increase their economy and help future
