Mars is the fourth planet from the sun in our solar system and even though it resembles Earth so much, it is only about half its size. The surface of mars is very dusty, but the ground is frozen solid (Life On Mars). Mars has the North and South Pole just like Earth. The North and South Pole on Mars both have ice caps made from water and carbon dioxide. Most of the water on Mars forms permafrost which coats the planet’s surface (Exploring Life’s Mysteries). Scientists have recently found liquid water on Mars, but it is mars atmosphere that creates a problem for intelligent life to live on the planet. Mars atmosphere severely lacks oxygen. Mars’ atmosphere contains ninety-five percent carbon dioxide, three percent nitrogen, and one and six-tenths percent argon (Exploring Life’s Mysteries). It has significantly lower pressure than Earth has. These factors would greatly impact any intelligent life form attempting to survive on Mars. Mars’ temperature ranges from negative 225 degrees Fahrenheit to seventy degrees Fahrenheit (Life On Mars). The atmosphere of Mars itself keeps intelligent life incapable of living on …show more content…
The atmosphere on Jupiter is very thick and the whole planet is mostly made of gas (Exploring Life’s Mysteries). The biggest factor that keeps intelligent life from being able to live on Jupiter is how the planet transfers heat. Jupiter absorbs heat from the sun then outputs twice as much. Jupiter’s temperature ranges from negative 190 Fahrenheit to forty degrees Fahrenheit (Exploring Life’s Mysteries). Jupiter has barely any gravity compared to Earth, which would be a big change if intelligent life would try to live there. The average temperature of the clouds on Jupiter is around negative 224 degrees Fahrenheit. Jupiter’s atmosphere is made up of mostly hydrogen and a small amount of helium (Exploring Life’s Mysteries). Considering the atmosphere and temperature intelligent life would never be able to survive on
