The idea of the American Dream and the freedoms we enjoy are explained and laid out for us in the Preamble and the Constitution, The Bill of Rights and the speech made by Franklin D. Roosevelt. The rights it is talking about is the same rights that is mentioned in both of them. The Preamble of the Constitution of the United States says, “ We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” The preamble just re-states what the declaration of Independence was saying was our right to do. If we have our rights, which is laid out in the Bill of Rights, then we can accomplish the American Dream, which is what Franklin D. Roosevelt said in his speech. He states that, “This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women, and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights and keep them.
