The subject of technology and social media is causing many problems in todays society. Humans around the world are always debiting weather technology is really harmful or beneficial. Technology can either be harmful or helpful depending on how it’s viewed. Many people believe that technology is more helpful, but at the same time technology causes many problems in society. Humans around the world use technology in their everyday lives, some use them in positive ways and others use them in negative ways. Technology can be a good thing when it’s used in the right ways. Technology is one of the reasons humans become lazy which leads to obesity. Technology is invented to make life better, but humans use them to make life worse. Humans now use cars to drive to all places. There is no walking anymore. If humans don’t start using technology the right way, then technology is going to lead to obesity. According NBC News “Technology doesn’t just keep people in their chairs and on sofas, according to the report from the nonprofit Milken Institute. It changes the way people eat, also adding even more pounds than the lack of exercise alone would.” Technology affects teens the most. Teens are always using technology while eating, which leads to weight gain because teens are not moving. Eating fast food has become easier then eating a home cooked meal, because it’s faster to do. It’s less likely to see face to face communication nowadays. This generation especially, people are more likely to break up with their significant other by text instead of face to face. Humans nowadays are always indoors, and they never go out. If they happen to go out humans are more likely to still be on their phones. Technology has taken over our lives. Humans have self-esteem problems, because of social media. According to Katlyn Tolly from USA Today College “Twenty out of 23 college students that use social media have anxiety or they are more stressed then the average student’s experience in college. “People face many problems because of social media, for example, cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is online bullying done by people who don’t have the self-esteem to face people in the real world. Teens are more likely to spend more time on social media than they do studying, being with friends, and family. The use of technology made all humans lonely. We use social media to judge people, which leads humans to have no self-esteem. Nowadays people are getting married to people they meet on social media, which later on leads to one outcome, divorce.
