"Children 's sense of relatedness plays an important role in their academic motivation and performance. Students who reported the most positive levels of support from teachers demonstrated higher levels of effort, attention, and persistence" (Strahan & Kronenberg 78). In other words, students who felt teachers supported them tried harder to do well in school. The convenience of technology in the classroom means nothing if teachers don 't have confidence in their student 's ability. A teacher 's guidance and experience is significant to children. As a student, you wouldn 't think you can do well if your teacher doesn 't think you can. Why bother trying if you 'll do poorly even if you did try hard. What teachers claimed to see changing in students over the years is not necessarily negative, rather it’s just unfamiliar to old-fashioned teachers. Technology is beneficial in the sense that it gets kids engaged in each lesson more often than not. It also seems as if there are still more ways to positively integrate technology that have still not yet been done. Technology isn’t necessarily helping or hurting students. How effective it is depends on how the teacher’s use it to support their teaching style and lessons. If teacher’s can find a way to appropriately interact with students on a more personal level by using technology, their older teaching styles could benefit from that.
