We live in a generation where students want to learn more information on subjects given in school, but sometimes teachers are not able to answer questions because of the rules given by the Department of Education. By allowing technology in schools we are giving children the opportunity to grow and become independent (Gooden, 2006). Giving children the opportunity to learn about the benefits and the negatives allows children to feel more independent while still allowing open invitation discussions on what they are learning (Barreto, 2011). “During this period it is therefore critical that parents explain to their children that internet access is not a right but a privilege” (Barreto, 2011). So basically when we allow children to know about the benefits about technology teaches them that they are privileged for having it. “In addition, during this period, the concepts of privacy and digital safely should be introduced.
