Is Superman A Hero

A person does not need to have superpowers to be considered a hero. Most people perform heroic acts by saving someone’s life or by preventing a crime. Heros do not have to be real people, they can be fictional characters in movies or comic books. Comic book heroes like Batman or Superman are fascinating to those who want to escape reality into the superhero realm. Of course not all superheroes are created equal or as realistic as others, some are more skilled and intriguing. Compared to to Superman, Batman is a more interesting and complex superhero due to his origins, his abilities and the deranged villains that he faces. This makes him able to function while tolerating massive amounts of physical pain, and also allows him to resist telepathy or mind control. He has been regarded as one of the greatest detectives, while Superman can barely solve the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper. Sure Superman has superhuman strength, superspeed and can fly, but that just makes it more boring to read knowing that he is too overpowered. He relies on his brute strength to take down an enemy, there is no skill or intricate planning involved. Superman is meant to be super-intelligent, but his solution to every problem is either charging straight at it with his fists up or throwing things. A hero is not only measured by his strength of heart, but also by his body and will. Superman was born with his supernatural strength, while Batman’s human strength gradually grew as he trained to hone his skills. He works and fights hard, battling for the innocent and bringing about justice. Batman’s strength and perseverance is unbelieveable and surpasses that of a “normal” superhero. He is a more compelling and and complex character compared to Superman due to his origins, his abilities, and the monstrous villains that he faces on a day-to-day basis.
