Every person’s life has been changed by expected or unexpected events. For me, my life has been through various events that altered my life. Despite all the events I have been through, my high school years was a special event because its the source of me becoming the person I am today. High school for me was similar to a dream, however some parts of my high school years felt I was experiencing hallucinations. Furthermore, the justification of the hallucinations is mainly because of drama with girls and guys when topic is sports or relationships. Also, high school augments the stress of a teenager to another level. At the end of my junior year, the football team’s head coach discharged himself due to staff problems and family problems. This caused the whole football program to be annihilated for next years football team. As for me, this situation made me the leader of next years football team because he was the leader of the linemen. After our coach left, most of the players left the football team and that made the rest of the team blase for next years season. On the contrary, this event also gave me the opportunity to get closer to my friends and make new friends that were not as close. In addition, it made me meet new people during and after the football games. Even though it’s slightly different for Track & Field because it’s known to be a social sport. When football season is over I did not stop being active, I continued on with Track & Field. Coming in as a freshman, I was overweight and my body fat percentage was high because I never exercised before entering high school. In the end of junior year I was able to enhance leadership …show more content…
Starting off with the most important of all is turning in all assignments on time. This simple responsibility made me more responsible throughout high school and up until now. Therefore, all my teachers saw me as a reliable student, and he would know that I would do all the assignments on time. One way I executed this responsibility was by staying on task on every homework and assignment. However, I did procrastinate sometimes either because I was tired or I was confident of finishing the assignment on time. Community Service hours is something makes students reliable for because without them students can not graduate high school. My freshman year I only did 17 hours helping my welding teacher clean up after school and help mark shot put and discus. Volunteering helping for the fair in Tanimura & Antle for the employees helped me communicate with customers because me as a freshman I was a shy person but that event helped me reduce my shyness. Another task that high school recommends students doing is obtaining all of high school credits in order to graduate. I achieved in getting my freshman year credits with good grades in all my classes. I only failed one class and that was junior year history for the first semester. One reason was the substitution of a new teacher half through first semester. For the entire class the new

One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

The semester before my freshman year I applied to an early college high school; I knew that I was going to have more work than if I had went to the traditional high school, but I knew I could do it. At first I was doing well, but as time went on the work became more challenging and frequent eventually my grades fell and took my pride with it. I wanted to transfer to the traditional high school in my neighborhood, but changed my mind after a talk with one of my professors. She helped me to recognize that if I quit not only would I be throwing away the work that I did do, but I’d also be preventing myself from seeing what work I could do. I took that seed of information and turned it into a tree of motivation.…

The feeling of failure for anyone is not an enjoyable feeling, it mostly can cause a stress on your life, when you know you are able to succeed. Between school, gymnastics, extra curricular activities, work, cheer, and many more activities I have to say I have been very busy throughout my high school years. There has been ups and downs, yet through all of them I have learned valuable lessons that I will take with me as I go off to college. I tried to challenge myself each year in a different way, being able to look back and reflect on them is a great way to see how far I’ve come since that first day as a freshman on crutches nervous as all get-out to attend Auburn Riverside High School. Freshman year of high school is scary for anyone, the enormous transition from being a top dog at middle school, back to an underclassman; wondering if your high school teachers will be as unforgiving as your 8th grade teacher’s descriptions, or even just that uncertainty that comes along with any major change. As a homeschooler entering school system for the first time, and having completely skipped 8th grade, it was terrifying. I had no idea what to expect, I worried about being behind the other students, or having missed something in my homeschooling curriculum, even interacting with other kids was all unfamiliar. It definitely didn’t help that, at 13, I was the youngest person in the building. Just two days into the school year, I discovered that P-AP world…
